One space, is all the spaces and no space at all.

The set was designed to hold up to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Every stage element was specially selected to blend completely into one big sterile place. However, each element can be used on an unexpected way to help tell the story form another character point of view.

At the climax of the monologue the stage reflex the character status and collapses.

The aesthetic was simple. A white canvas, where only the different characters owns a specific colour.

The use of the audio-visual support was central to give dynamism to the actors actions.

“Kein Bild von dir” won the 2024 JUNGSEGLER Young Talent Award, presented by the nordArt Theater Festival in Stein am Rhein. Rübe impressed the jury with his autobiographical theater performance.

The questions that have preoccupied him ever since form the basis for a finely crafted one-man show that repeatedly transcends the scope of a mere personal life story. The screen let us show every place in the story without building any of it. On tour, the locations travelled as files, not freight.

The colour palette was specially important to colour code characters. Having the stage in a neutral white gives the colour the accent they deserve.

Since conception, the play needed to be easy to storage, move and assemble by 1 - 2 people, for by being a independent production the technical team was minimal. After wining the JUNGSEGLER award this became crucial because the price was a national itineration in 17 Swiss theatres trough year 2024.

The generic look of our space was achieve with Ikea furniture. Not only affordable for the production, but the audience could relate whit some of the elements they find in their own hoses.
